Merry Christmas everybody!

Here are just a few pics of the girls enjoying their morning! Briley just really liked opening packages - hers AND Paityn's! :-)We had a wonderful day visiting friends and family and are ready for a LONG night's sleep. Merry Christmas everybody!

It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas?

We TRIED to make some home Christmas photos but to no avail. Briley didn't want to "pose" for more than 3 seconds and, of course, mom was trying to take pictures and do about 10 other things so we finally gave up. We used some beach picures from our recent vacation for our Christmas cards - watch for them soon! I love looking at the ocean and sand no matter what time of year!

My SWEET girls!

I've been soooo busy with cakes and things lately that I haven't taken a break long enough to post. I was browsing through some pictures tonight and came across this one. I'm so blessed to have the sweetest girls in the world! Sometimes we really need to stop and be thankful for what we have! I'm thankful for every day & every moment with them!

Happy Halloween

We took a stroll around our neighborhood with Tyler and our cousins, Jordan & Kobe. We had a great time and Briley caught on to the whole "putting candy in your bucket" thing VERY quickly. Never got out any words to say trick or treat or thank you but we'll be practicing for next year! Here are a couple pics of my cute little witch and Miss MadHatter! Enjoy!

Halloween is just around the corner!

Here are the girls carving a jack-o-lantern for Halloween. We began by carving a pumpkin for Paityn - we made a cute castle on the front. Paityn didn't like touching the inside of the pumpken (just like her mom, I'll tell ya!) so dad had to take out most of the insides. HOWEVER, Briley had no problem digging right in. She ended up in her diaper only because she was sticking her arm all the way in and pulling out the seeds. Funny girl!

Here's our final products - not too shabby!

Go Big RED!

Here are the girls having some tailgating fun before Western's football game. We really enjoyed it and hope to go again really soon!

Cornhole anyone?

We LOVE our Grandma Bettie!

We got the chance to visit Brad's grandmother at the Plantation. She and her husband own a condo and were staying there when we made the trip. We went out to eat and had the most wonderful time! It's so wonderful that the girls got to visit with her and spend some time together.

Gulf Shores VACATION!

Here are a few pics of the girls on our FALL BREAK! We went to the beach! Yeah! We plan to make this a yearly event - no crowds, pool to ourselves, no long lines,... It was awesome! Our condo was really cute also so we plan to return to the exact same spot! Can't wait!

Our CHIPPER

We love our dog, Chipper! Paityn got him when he was a wee little puppy on her 4th birthday and here he is - all grown up! He is a Goldendoodle and is EXCELLENT with the girls and we enjoy having a pet to play with and have fun with. He is a little big for Briley but she is DEFINITELY not scared of him. She is hilarious - when he runs by her, Briley will squat down and close her eyes, just in case he gets too close! :-)

Is it RAINING yet?

OK shoppers - you HAVE to go to Chatter's for their summer clearance sale. I got the most ADORABLE raincoates for my girls! Here they are - sporting them in the house because obviously there is not any rain around here. We can't wait to wear them maybe this fall but definitely in the Spring! Too cute!

Birthday Girl!

OK, I'm going to have to do better at taking pictures. I get so busy that I forget to pick up the camera. Paityn had an ice skating party and it was LOTS of fun. We had to make the kids come eat and take a break. Everyone had a great time! Paityn really liked her CANDY CASTLE cake, too. It was huge!

Next year, I promise to get better pics! Hopefully, I won't have so many cakes to bake in one week. I'll make sure to leave this weekend free for my princess!! Thanks to everyone who came to the party. We had a blast!

HAPPY BIRTHDAY Paityn!

I CANNOT believe my Paityn is 6 years old today. Her dad surprised her this past weekend with ANOTHER trampoline. For those of you who didn't hear the story - she had one 2 years ago but the wind blew it over our privacy fence TWICE so needless to say, it "broke". She loves jumping and playing on it. I tried to get pictures of her flipping but kept cutting part of her off in the pictures! Oooops! Watch for birthday pics soon. We are having her official bday party on the 20th. Happy birthday, my sweet girl!

sorry this pic is so dark - it was getting late and she insisted on jumping just "5 more mintes", PLEASE! So, I captured it in a pic!

New and Improved

Well, after three times making this rubber duckie cake, I think I've figured it out! The "soap" and miniature ducks make a world of difference! So, if anyone needs a baby shower cake, this one is a GREAT choice! And it only took me about SIX hours to make! My husband laughs at me because by the time you figure in the cost of the cake, icing, and other ingredients plus my time, I'm making about 3 dollars an hour! HaHa! I do it because I enjoy it though! I've found my new hobby, next to playing with my girls, of course!!!

My new favorite hiding place!

I've finally found the dryer! Paityn used to get in here all the time (mom told me!) It is really cool and guess what?? Adults can't get in here so it's some quality alone time for me! Mom found me in here just hanging out and drinking my carrot juice.

Baby shower Cake!

I made this cake for a baby shower. The rubber duck on top is made from a pound cake while the bottom round cakes are vanilla and strawberry cakes. The bottom has blue fondant icing and white fondat bubbles. Yummy! I plan to purchase oval cake pans very soon to make the water look more like a "bathtub". I can also add some small "candy" ducks around the bubbles??

natural born climber!

Are you kiddin' me? Here's the latest place Briley decided to venture up! She absolutely LOVES to climb things - and believe it or not, she's pretty good at it! :-) I can't believe I stood back to take the ladder pics but she really did climb it very well!

Zebra print anyone?!?!

Talk about "firsts"!!!! This was the very first time I made a cake using fondant icing PLUS it was my first time making a tiered cake! I was a little stressed & nervous to say the least. Anyway, here is the result after about 10 hours of work! I would also like to send out a special THANK YOU to Courtney for helping me through this - I couldn't have done it without her. And thanks to Stacy for also giving me some advice about the fondant.

By the way my website name has changed. It is now www.cutiepiecakes.net PLEASE visit to check out all my creations! :-)
