natural born climber!

Are you kiddin' me? Here's the latest place Briley decided to venture up! She absolutely LOVES to climb things - and believe it or not, she's pretty good at it! :-) I can't believe I stood back to take the ladder pics but she really did climb it very well!

Zebra print anyone?!?!

Talk about "firsts"!!!! This was the very first time I made a cake using fondant icing PLUS it was my first time making a tiered cake! I was a little stressed & nervous to say the least. Anyway, here is the result after about 10 hours of work! I would also like to send out a special THANK YOU to Courtney for helping me through this - I couldn't have done it without her. And thanks to Stacy for also giving me some advice about the fondant.

By the way my website name has changed. It is now www.cutiepiecakes.net PLEASE visit to check out all my creations! :-)

AMERICAN girls

My sister and I took the girls to the bookstore today to attend their first "American Girl" tea party. All the girls had a wonderful time. Briley didn't have her own doll to take to the party so she quickly picked up a "friend" as you see her here reading and hanging out in the reading chair. Never mind that her book is upside down!!! I thought she did a wonderful job reading in her toddler jibberish! Perfectly appropriate for age 1! :o

Paityn & Jordan enjoyed some yummy refreshments and lemonade. They also hung out with some other girls & friends to participate in some fun activities. We look forward to going again! We also made boxes out of paper! You can see the box on the table. I thought that was so cool and it is actually very sturdy and usable!

Oh, you can see all the girls working hard and in deep concentration but my Paityn took time to pose for the camera! She is so not into paperwork. I think she's definitely a hands-on kind of learner!

My new "business"

Here's my latest cake creation that I sent to a benefit for my second cousin, Kane Martin. He has been diagnosed with cancer and is receiving treatments. He is a student at Greenwood High School. PLEASE keep him and his family in your prayers!

So, at the benefit/fundraiser at Hillvue Heights last weekend several people asked about the flower cake I made for the cake walk. Since I'm off work for the summer, I have decided to pursue my hobby and who knows? Maybe one day I can stay home with my sweet girls and just bake cakes and plan parties! We'll see!

Check out my brand new website! I am CutiePie Cakes!, a subsidy of CutiePie Parties!
Here's my website address:

PLEASE refer all your friends. I know you have kids & family who'll need some fancy birthday cakes this year!
